Will the BBC Verify Team Verify Paul S. Waugh’s Open Letter to Catrin Nye?

“But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbour.” — Galatians 6:4

Following its launch in May 2023, the BBC told the British Government that its BBC Verify has the following remit:

“BBC Verify are tasked with fact-checking, verifying video, countering disinformation, analysing data and explaining complex stories in the pursuit of truth. They work to pull back the curtain on our journalism to show audiences the incredible hard work going on behind the scenes at BBC News to check and verify the information we share with our audiences.” — BBC written evidence submitted to House of Lords Communications and Digital Select Committee inquiry, February 2024

It was launched by the disgraced ex-BBC News CEO, Deborah Turness, who ironically was forced to resign following the public embarrassment of the BBC being caught deceptively splicing Donald Trump’s speech on 6th January 2021.

Several media commentators (including other members of the mainstream media) have asked the question, “Who verifies the verifier?” This is because BBC Verify has only taken on the task of verifying all journalists’ work… except its own.

Hence, Citizen BBC Verify was launched to hold BBC Verify accountable for its work. So far, we’ve asked BBC Verify to comment on articles revealing the modus operandi of the BBC and its people:

At the time of writing (28th September 2026), there’s been no reply to legitimate journalistic questions asked of a team that promotes itself as experts in discerning fact from fiction.

Our latest email involves Paul S. Waugh asking the BBC Verify team to conduct a rigorous analysis and fact-checking exercise on his open letter to BBC journalist Catrin Nye entitled “God Help You, Catrin Nye.”

Below is the letter sent on 26th September 2026. We will update you on what, if any, response we receive from the 61 BBC Verify staff whose salaries are paid for by the British public.

What BBC Verify’s Silence Reveals

The silence so far from BBC Verify’s non-response to our questions about its purpose and conduct is deafening. It is yet another reference and example of the BBC Savile Syndrome in action. The BBC wants to be seen as an angel of light. This means that it absolutely detests having its darkness and evil revealed for the world to see.

This is why we see BBC staff exhibit an absolute hatred for us and our work at Lighthouse.

We will leave you with how the unrepentant demons at the BBC could not help but show their true colours when we were shining a light on the deception and the abuse perpetrated by the BBC and its people through peaceful protests in the summer of 2024.

But on the lighter side of dark…

BBC Verify ought to be the Gold standard in investigative journalism accuracy. Yet does it look inwards or does it just try and do what the BBC usually do ie project outwards. The British public deserve to know the truth.

Watching the video brings back memories of our time peacefully protesting outside the BBC. The BBC staff weren’t so peaceful. The act of standing there holding up placards with the reality of the abuse that the BBC has inflicted on children and the licence fee payer was too much for some.

I recall the shock that the second staff member featured in this video (Daniel De Simone) received when we called him by his first name on a subsequent protest. He looked far from the tough-guy Terminator wannabe who was trying to psyche us out with some kind of power stare.

As for the first lady, may God help her. The same applies to the rest of the BBC staff… these were clearly not happy, healthy people. It’s apparent that working for the BBC would’ve probably been their dream job, but it was failing to meet their expectations given the looks on the staff’s faces as they walked into work. Meanwhile we discovered that staff were told by their managers not to talk to us. Who’s the coercively controlling cult?!?

Brilliant video. It depicts exactly what those inside the BBC are like, if not all of them, then certainly a significant number of them. What is so damning is that the BBC appears willing to scrutinise and ‘verify’ others, while failing to apply the same level of scrutiny to itself and its own actions. We can all see what the BBC has done to so many, not least through cases involving Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris, Huw Edwards and Stuart Hall.

God bless the victims of those perpetrators and predators.

Thank you for this update and for shining a light on the truth. God bless. 🙏

‘The ‘who verifies the verifier?’ question is incredibly powerful because it goes right to the heart of accountability. If the BBC Verify team is genuinely committed to pursuing truth through rigorous verification, then that same standard must be willing to turn towards the BBC itself. simply!
…but we it coming very clear the BBC doesn’t play but those rules. Verification cannot be a principle that only applies outwards. If truth really is the objective, then nothing should be beyond examination, including the examiner itself. That is where genuine accountability begins.

What I love is: Who verifies the verifier? This is a huge question and, in the BBC case, needs to be answered. They are a media outlet, and they need to publish the truth and STOP fabricating it.

I’ve said it before: I value this site because what you are doing is fact-checking, verifying information and NOT manipulating it. You are correcting the record…

Love the video; thank you for the work you put into putting this together…

This begs the question: how much is BBC Verify really interested in truth, especially when it is close to home and concerns the BBC, with all its crimes and paedophilia? It’s easy to verify yourself and give yourself a good mark!

The video also says it all about the character of those working at the BBC, and these are certainly not the only ones with questionable character and attitudes.

The truth is the truth and the whole of BBC Verify and BBC News ought to be seeking that every day – as they so proudly claim. In which case if this is true, then I look forward to their answers to these questions!

I really love this article because ‘Who verifies the verifier?’ is such a powerful and necessary question, especially when an organisation presents itself as a champion of rigorous fact-checking and truth. I really appreciate the direct challenge to BBC Verify to apply that same scrutiny to itself, because truth cannot be a standard we impose on others while exempting ourselves. Ultimately, genuine verification must be willing to follow the evidence wherever it leads, even when it leads back to the institution doing the verifying.

The video brought back a lot of memories that revealed just how suited many of the BBC employees are to an institution like this….another area that needs verification desperately is who they are employing. Their track record with employing and enabling sexual abusers, is diabolical…

As usual, the BBC only want to verify what suits them. If it doesn’t suit them, there is no interest or urgency whatsoever, especially when what needs verifying is themselves.
