The BBC’s Real Charter (As Lived, Not Stated By Them)

The BBC’s Real Charter

What the BBC actually exists to do – as revealed by how it behaves, not what it says.

The BBC has a Royal Charter and Editorial Guidelines full of words like truth, impartiality, public service, and holding power to account. BBC Verify promises “forensic” fact‑checking and transparency.

But institutions reveal their real charter not in what they print on paper, but in what they repeatedly do when truth threatens the establishment that funds, protects, and promotes them.

Across cases like Jimmy Savile, Martin Bashir, the Israel–Palestine conflict, President Donald Trump, and A Very British Cult, a different charter emerges: not the one the BBC states, but the one it actually lives.

The Operational Charter of the BBC

As lived in practice, not as written in press releases.

What will likely astonish you as you go through this Charter is that the BBC is the organisation described below. By extension the BBC’s people are those who enable this culture and ensure the organisation continues to exist and be force-funded by the British public to the tune of billions every year.

The BBC is a publicly funded organisation operating at complete variance to their Charter and their values, with zero virtues.

The big question this site will ask is… how does that happen?!?

The simple answer is an indoctrinated population that is subsequently infantilised and institutionalised. There can be no other reason why any rational citizen would pay to be lied to and not do something to change this.

Article 1 – Preserve the credibility of the global establishment

When forced to choose between protecting ordinary citizens and protecting state‑aligned institutions and those that govern them, the BBC will default to the latter.

  • Investigations will be framed to shield core establishment actors from deep scrutiny.
  • Damage control will focus on “bad apples” and narrow procedural errors, not systemic corruption.
  • Those harmed by establishment abuse are treated as reputational threats to be managed, not citizens to be defended.

Article 2 – Control the definition of “truth” in public life

The BBC will act as gatekeeper of what may be treated as “fact” or “truth”, especially on matters that threaten establishment power.

  • BBC Verify will be deployed to brand establishment narratives as “verified” and to pathologise serious critics as “conspiracy theorists.”
  • The line between “news,” “analysis,” and “opinion” will be blurred in practice, while the label “impartial” is kept for marketing and defence.
  • Challenges to state, corporate, or supranational power will be filtered, minimised, or framed as fringe, regardless of the evidence base.

NB: Citizen BBC Verify is in no way affiliated with the BBC. It is a watchdog initiated by Citizen Intervention Global to scrutinise the BBC and BBC Verify.

Article 3 – Weaponise verification selectively

Verification standards will be applied ruthlessly to outsiders, but suspended when the BBC’s own output serves establishment interests, and their own.

  • External claims and alternative media are subjected to aggressive scrutiny, “context” checks, and fact‑checking articles.
  • The BBC’s own high‑impact documentaries can contain dozens or hundreds of falsehoods and deceptions without triggering a BBC Verify review.
  • The more a programme aligns with establishment narratives, the less seriously verification failures will be treated.

NB: Citizen BBC Verify is in no way affiliated with the BBC. It is a watchdog initiated by Citizen Intervention Global to scrutinise the BBC and BBC Verify.

Article 4 – Protect favoured journalists and sources from accountability

The BBC will shield its chosen reporters and “experts” even when their work is shown to be distorted, conflicted, or harmful. They receive total blanket protection when commissioned to do wrong.

  • High‑profile journalists who deliver establishment‑friendly narratives are defended institutionally, not disciplined (especially through the commission of hit pieces).
  • Ideologically aligned third-party, pseudo ‘experts’ and campaigners are platformed as neutral authorities while their conflicts of interest are downplayed or hidden.
  • When exposed, the default response is to close ranks, minimise, delay, and quietly move on – not to open the work to genuine outside scrutiny.

Article 5 – Manage establishment scandal, rather than expose it thoroughly

The BBC’s priority in scandal is the protection of its own brand and that of allied individuals and institutions, not the full truth.

  • Historical scandals (Jimmy Savile child abuse, Martin Bashir forgery of bank statements, etc.) are treated as “regrettable exceptions” or “error in judgment” rather than evidence of a repeated pattern of institutional evil.
  • Internal reviews are constrained to limit how far responsibility travels up the chain of command.
  • Coverage of establishment‑threatening issues is calibrated to manage public anger, not to drive transformation.

NB: Citizen BBC Verify is in no way affiliated with the BBC. It is a watchdog initiated by Citizen Intervention Global to scrutinise the BBC and BBC Verify.

Article 6 – Direct public outrage away from systemic power and onto soft targets

Outsiders, small organisations, and ordinary citizens will be framed as dangerous or cultic to deflect scrutiny from where the true danger lies in entrenched establishment power.

  • Programmes focus on marginal or vulnerable groups in ways that generate fear and disgust through gaslighting, while leaving state and corporate abuses largely untouched.
  • Language, editing, and framing are used to present non‑conforming communities as uniquely “extreme,” even when their real power, reach and influence are tiny compared to that of the institutions attacking them.
  • This creates moral cover for the establishment while destroying the reputations and livelihoods of those least able to defend themselves.

Article 7 – Preserve funding and influence by maintaining an illusion of neutrality

“Impartiality,” “transparency,” and “verification” will function as protective branding, not binding principles.

  • BBC Verify and similar initiatives are showcased as “transparency in action” while being carefully insulated from the BBC’s most politically sensitive output.
  • Slogans about “how we know” are used to reassure audiences, even when core cases are shielded from real scrutiny.
  • The appearance of neutrality is used to demand public trust, licence fees, and political protection, even as practice betrays those ideals.

NB: Citizen BBC Verify is in no way affiliated with the BBC. It is a watchdog initiated by Citizen Intervention Global to scrutinise the BBC and BBC Verify.

From a Christian Perspective

The Bible does not treat this as a neutral mistake. It calls it bearing false witness and serving two masters.

  • “Do not spread false reports. Do not help a guilty person by being a malicious witness.” (Exodus 23:1)
  • “You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” (Matthew 7:5)
  • “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” (Luke 8:17)

By its fruits, the BBC shows that its real allegiance is not to truth or to the ordinary person paying the licence fee, but to a deeper establishment order that rewards deceit when it protects itself.

The real charter above is not what the BBC says with its mouth. It is what it says with its actions, its edits, its silence, and its refusal to submit itself to the same verification it demands from others.

They have brainwashed millions of listeners and viewers from childhood to believe they can be trusted and obeyed. They have clearly abused their position as publicly funded broadcasters. They maintain a monopoly on the narratives by, as you say, silencing small vulnerable groups / individuals, projecting and deflecting their own crimes onto others to serve as scapegoats for the public. Their true charter seems to be one of control, fear-induction, psychological manipulation and demanding obedience. But why? Why would a state broadcaster do this to its own citizens? What agenda does that serve? Why would you want a population dumbed down, afraid, misinformed and disempowered? Unless that is the point – to control a population through submission and suppression so that the greater establishment can maintain control and deny true freedom to its citizens.
Thank you Citizen Intervention. This is pioneering and necessary work for British and global citizens to wake up, detect the carbon monoxide being filtered through our TVs and radios. Turn it off, get real air, open our eyes, and protect our freedoms, our children and our futures.

The Real BBC charter compared to what they have written down in their public documents are at complete odds with each other. What is scary is that so much about the truth about who they truly are has only come out with the increase in citizen journalism. I think about the near monopoly they had with public broadcasting from their inception until to the advent of the internet and even now they have a high degree of false credibility because of their past. Already so much of their falsehoods have come out and what is scary is that I can imagine this being just a fraction of how they have manipulated the public.

It’s a really good point about Citizen Journalism. If ordinary people weren’t taking it upon themselves to report on things and revealing the BBC for what it is, they certainly wouldn’t be doing it themselves (ie the BBC).. This is why for most of their history they weren’t being found out as much as they ought to have been.

It just shows how categorical in their hypocrisy they really are, it’s incredible to see the amount of lies and provable falsehoods, and the evidence to back it up! They must be held to account to the full extent. Thank you for bringing this together, for the sake of who this will actually help in the long-term, all those who have been victim to this type of skullduggery. May God bless and help us all.

Boom!!! Showing the real side of the BBC rather than the facade they’ve been churning out for years. These charters the likes of the BBC have are just fronts to fool the public, but with sites like this, they’ll never get away with it!! Good work on creating this.

The public needs to hold these points up to the BBC and watch what they observe. The BBC’s track record over just the last year or two is damning enough in and of itself, let alone the rest of its history.. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognise them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.” Matthew 7:15-17.

“The BBC is a publicly funded organisation operating at complete variance to their Charter and their values, with zero virtues.”

Shame on the BBC! Their “paragon of virtue” veneer has been cracking for many years now and it is very close to disintegrating completely! This is a brilliant evidence-based article on the BBC’s true sinister and disgraceful character…they cannot come back from this reveal. Every finger they have pointed at others, including Lighthouse, has revealed a little more of their partiality and satanic agenda and we have more to come!

Who the BBC say they are and who they actually are, are two very different realities. I really appreciate how this investigation and verification of the BBC is revealing that which many people feel, but may not be able to articulate.

If someone had told me how the BBC actually is, I would’ve considered them an oddball. It would have been different with something like the News of the World or the Daily Mail, but not the darling BBC?!? My eyes have been opened to the point that what’s not in the public domain actually means the BBC are likely far worse than what’s published here.

I’d be fascinated to hear what the BBC has to say about what’s laid out here…

These are very powerful points. In particular in relation to what the BBC have to say about who they say they are compared to who they are. I never see them discussing this – I just see them talking about isolated incidents such as a Huw Edwards but never discussing the broad range of accusations against their political bias

The BBC seeks to maintain the illusion that it is impartial and committed to the truth. Yet the more one examines its record and the many scandals associated with it, the clearer it becomes that the reality is very different. Acting as a mouthpiece for the government and the wider establishment, the BBC appears to pursue its own agenda, protecting a select minority while attempting to silence those who expose wrongdoing and bring light into dark places.

Reading the BBC’s real charter here shows their arsenal of weapons they use against the public. Real reform is needed and it’s crucial for citizens to hold them accountable.

“Arsenal of weapons” is a great way of putting it, and against their viewers too because what they do ultimately hurts us the public.

The ones affected are the viewers, the public. Why? Because they are being manipulated by the very organisation that they have put their trust in. Trust to deliver the truth because they state they put the public’s interests first. What is being shown in this article is that it is not the case. The BBC lies, manipulates, and uses the public’s forced licence fees to fund it all.

What the BBC has done to Paul, Kris, Sukh and Jatinder is something I can’t even find the words to describe. To take the attention away from them, they call organisations like Lighthouse a cult, not even knowing what we do, who we are. Why? Because they never took the time to ask. So, where was their verification of what they said about us? BBC Verification is a joke. They are quick to point out lies and manipulation in other organisations, but brush their own under the carpet.

The public needs to know what is real and what is fake. And Citizen BBC Verify will help them realise it for themselves.

“You cannot talk your way out of a situation you acted your way into.” This is the reality that the BBC are facing by saying they adhere to their charter, but actually break themselves against it every day.

Such a way of life is not sustainable for a person or institution, and the public are seeing this more clearly every day, in the case of the BBC.

‘The Bad Apple’ Syndrome at the BBC;
If there had been 1 ‘Bad Apple’ – a Jimmy Saville – at the BBC in 100 years of operation, I would believe their claim of ‘rooting out the bad apple’, accept their apology and move on.

But it’s not 1 ‘Bad Apple’.
It has happened again (Rolf Harris),
and again (Huw Edwards),
and again (Peter Rowell),
and again (Stuart Hall),
and again (Tony & Julie Wadsworth),
and again (Scott Mills)
and again (…?…)

This tells me it is not the ‘apples’ that are bad, it’s the organisation.
The barrel the apples are put in, makes them bad!

This is why the BBC needs to be reformed, rebuilt and restored to a condition fit for purpose.
