This article is about a 12-minute read.
As a strong caution, it contains some extremely disturbing realities about the abuse of young and grown children by their own families.
These are the very same families with whom the BBC conspired to attack Paul S. Waugh and Lighthouse Global.
Here is just one awful and shocking testimony…
“When I was a teenager my mother hijacked my Facebook account and sexted my partner at the time with pictures she insisted on taking of me in my underwear. This included my mother acting as me on Facebook and encouraging my teenage partner to send her explicit pictures and videos. My partner had no idea what was really going on, thinking they were messaging me. My mother also watched the explicit videos of my partner with me and encouraged me to share with her about my sexual experiences and things she had advised me to do! I have evidence of all of this including her attempts to try and smear Lighthouse to cover this up!” — former Lighthouse Global client
The Key Points Of This Article
- The BBC’s lust for abuse: The BBC’s track record of protecting child abusers and vilifying the victims is precisely what we have experienced at Lighthouse Global.
- The BBC presents itself as the friendly “aunty” but is more like the “devouring mother”.
- The BBC’s deliberate blackout of Lighthouse: denying us our full and fair right to reply to A Very British Cult, and rejected Lighthouse’s evidence being presented in full. Evidence that decimates the 140+ falsehoods the BBC knowingly broadcast.
- BBC stooge Alexandra Stein & the silence on family abuse: Ms Stein’s “Family Survival Trust” spotlights “cults” while wilfully ignoring the far more common and darker reality of abuse inside toxic family homes.
- First-hand testimonies of abuse from survivors of toxic and abusive families — warning — these are graphic and horrifying.
- Lighthouse and Paul S. Waugh are exposing what abusive families and institutional allies want kept hidden — while the BBC tries to coax survivors back to their abusers!
- We are correcting the falsified record every single day, whatever the BBC, UK government agencies, and other diabolical forces throw at us.
The BBC says it is protecting “families.” The question is: which families? And why?
Are they protecting children and adult survivors brutalised inside toxic homes, or the relatives desperate to keep the evidence and facts of that abuse buried?
We have seen the same pattern play out elsewhere: the very rapists in Pakistani Muslim rape gangs have been protected by the police, court systems, and politicians in the name of fighting back against “racism”—while over 250,000 white British girls were raped, trafficked, impregnated, beaten, and abused by these sick and dark individuals.
Horrifically, the pattern is the same—only the slogans change.
The BBC has a major problem that they refuse to deal with; they are a cesspit of physical, emotional, sexual, financial, satanic, and murderous abusers.
1. The BBC’s Lust For Abuse
“My mother knew that I was taking and dealing drugs from my early teens. I also had a porn addiction from the age of 9 that she did nothing about. Now she is one of those behind this [Reddit and BBC] smear campaign trying to destroy my recovery and those supporting me through it! She is terrified the truth will come out!” — Lighthouse Global client and survivor of toxic family abuse
The BBC markets itself as an impartial force for good—an educator of the masses. With “Children’s BBC,” it even presents itself as a surrogate parental figure: “aunty.”
But when it comes to Lighthouse Global, the BBC has acted less like “aunty” and more like what Dr. Jordan Peterson calls “the devouring mother”. What we have seen is a familiar Establishment playbook:
- abuse whoever they want to in the shadows
- cover up the abuse
- protect the institution’s reputation
- protect the narrative
- target and discredit the people exposing abuse
- distracting the masses from their own abuse
This pattern is not new. For decades, the BBC has abused—and even threatened—those who tried to expose the abuse of children within its own walls. It still employs individuals who directly and indirectly harm children, including former news anchor Huw Edwards.
That is why we have coined the term BBC Savile Syndrome.
Abuse inside families is not a fringe issue for the BBC or for the UK.
Public data underlines its scale:
- Six in 10 children – or 400 million children globally – under 5 years of age regularly suffer physical punishment and/or psychological violence at the hands of parents and caregivers (Source: World Health Organisation).
- 60-70% of boys and girls aged two to fourteen experience emotional violence from a caregiver or household member (Source: BMJ Journals).
- The family environment accounts for almost half of all child sexual abuse offences reported to the police in England and Wales (Source: Centre of Expertise on child sexual abuse).
- 40% of all referrals to local services like the police and children’s social care from the NSPCC Helpline were for children aged 5 and under (Source: NSPCC).
If family abuse is one of society’s biggest taboos, then a media narrative that centres “family protection” while minimising intra-familial abuse is not neutral. It protects the abusers who most need secrecy to hide their heinous crimes.
2. The BBC’s Deliberate Blackout & Cancelling of Lighthouse Global
“‘You don’t f**king care, YOU’RE A BTCH!’ was my father’s reaction to me breaking down in tears whilst organising files containing intimate details of his divorce from my mother. He’d asked me to do this for pocket money.” — Lighthouse Global Associate*
The BBC denied Lighthouse the chance to provide a full and comprehensive right to reply to the allegations in A Very British Cult. This was not balanced; it functioned as a blackout.
A meaningful, full, comprehensive right to reply requires engagement with evidence, context, motives, and documentation—not an interview format designed to prevent evidence being presented. Lighthouse wanted to answer allegations with full evidence.
The BBC refused to allow that.
This is why the BBC’s treatment of Lighthouse fits a wider cancellation pattern: Lighthouse speaks openly about family abuse; mainstream media deliberately does everything in its power to crush our voice.
Why? Surely only those who are abusive themselves would try and conspire with kindred dark spirits in such a sinister coverup…
3. BBC Stooge Alexandra Stein & the Silence Around Family Abuse
“When I told my mother that I’d been raped as a teenager by a peer she said, ‘Well you know sometimes people can think that these things happened when they didn’t.’” — Lighthouse Global client and survivor of toxic family abuse
The BBC once more have tried to hide behind pseudo-science and shoddy so-called “experts” to push their narrative.
Alexandra Stein presents herself as a “cult expert” and runs the “Family Survival Trust.” In practice, her self-formed framework keeps attention on external “cults” and “high-control groups” while saying almost nothing about coercive control, sexual abuse, psychological torture, and neglect inside toxic family homes.
Why?
Why is Ms Stein — a stooge of the BBC —so wilfully blind to the chronic and dark abuse that goes on inside millions of homes?
Or is she not blind at all?
What if she sees it, and yet she still protects the abusers? While encouraging their victims to return to the ‘safe’ family?!
Surely such an ‘expert’ can’t be that blind… or is she just that evil?
She, like the BBC, has a very real problem. They will not admit or even confess the disturbing truth when it is staring them right in the face.
We have publicly and repeatedly invited Ms Stein to thoroughly investigate Lighthouse, even at our own expense. Ms Stein ran away in terror from every single one of our offers.
That silence has consequences. As we have seen with the rape gangs that have been ripping through communities and young girls’ lives for decades, as far back as the 1950s, Ms Stein, the BBC and countless individuals in the constabulary, judiciary and government are letting abusers devastate young, vulnerable children’s lives in the one place that has the least scrutiny —inside their own homes.
So the abuse continues to happen behind closed doors, protected by reputation, fear, denial, and social pressure.
Lighthouse offered Stein the chance to spend time with the community and investigate it directly. She declined. The message survivors hear from this wider “anti-cult” toxic framing is chilling: leave Lighthouse and go back to your families—even if those families were abusive.
That is not safeguarding. That is diabolical collusion with abusers.
4. “Protecting Families” – Or Protecting Abusers?
The Case of Erin: A child raped by her step-brother was told by her parent she was ‘a naughty teenager’. The parents of this child have been amongst the very worst trolls of Lighthouse because they have the most to hide.
Lighthouse has always sought healthy restoration where there is repentance, truth, and change. Survivors must never be pressured back into relationships with unrepentant abusers—abusers who have never admitted what they did and may still be harming others. Whether that is a family member or anyone in their life.
This is the moral hinge: when “protecting families” means the BBC prioritising their own and the abusers’ reputation and social normality over truth, justice, and survivor safety, it becomes a mechanism for enabling and galvanising abusers.
5. Harrowing Abuse From Toxic Families – The People the BBC & Alexandra Stein Have Sided With
“Yahweh is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the evils against the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all.” — Psalm 34:18-19
Crucially, this information was already known to the BBC five months before the broadcast of A Very British Cult, as evidenced by contemporaneous material and first-hand accounts.
Below are key extracts from Lighthouse Associates and clients about the families that have been used as weapons against Lighthouse, and against abuse survivors’ own recovery.
WARNING: Please note that the quotes below describe real events of family abuse (physical, emotional, sexual). They present the reality of what Lighthouse Associates and clients have experienced before coming to Lighthouse for help. NB where specialised help was required, Lighthouse mentors referred abuse survivors to qualified professionals outside of Lighthouse.
The perpetrators of these abuses are those behind efforts to destroy Lighthouse through a hate and smear campaign.
Since February 2021, they have orchestrated coordinated attacks on Lighthouse through:
- online predatory trolling on Reddit
- instigating hit-piece articles in the Daily Mail
- weaponising the UK Insolvency Service
- acting as sources for the BBC in A Very British Cult
As reflected in the prayer at the bottom, we as Christians pray for both the survivors and perpetrators of this heinous childhood abuse…
“When I questioned my upbringing, challenged my parents on it and opened up to my wife about the neglect and damage that was done to me as a child, they committed me to a mental asylum where I was drugged. Since then there have been times when I have challenged my wife and she has threatened to send me back to the asylum, not because I’m sick but because she wants to try and control me knowing how traumatic that experience was for me.”
“Despite admitting to the sexual abuse of us as her sons and that we needed psychosexual therapy, our mother then compounded our abuse by claiming we were lying and spewing this all over media. She has been one of the worst predatory trolls, including her being an anonymous source in the Daily Mail, because she has the most to hide in terms of her abuse of us!”
“My mother fed me from a milk bottle for the first 9 years of my life and only stopped when I insisted on it, after fearing my friends would find out.”
“When aged 11, one evening I heard the rattling of metal so went to see what was wrong and saw my mum standing there with a large knife in her hand saying to me, ‘I’m going to kill him’. She has been trying to kill Lighthouse too because she has so much to hide!!”
“After I’d been raped, the first thing my mother said is, ‘You shouldn’t have worn that dress.’”
“One of the biggest violations my birth mother said that crossed a line that ought to have never been said was if anyone, including my Dad, had ever sexually abused me/my sister, she didn’t want to know because SHE couldn’t cope with it!”
“One evening I suddenly saw my mum on top of my dad on the sofa punching him in the head as he, in his drunken stupor, tried to defend himself.”
“I asked my dad that if I was a drug addict, was going to die and desperately needed to go into rehab, would he want to know so he could help, he said, ‘I have finished my role as a parent and will not be responsible for anything in your life.”
“I went to primary school not fully toilet trained and so suffered the embarrassment of wetting myself at school and on camping trips as old as 8 or 9 years old.”
“By the age of 11 I ‘hated’ speaking so much that I stopped and that lasted around two years. I only spoke when I had to, otherwise, nothing came out my mouth, just nods and shakes of my head. It was the psychological impact of what I was missing from my development as a child.”
“There would be times when my mum would go completely AWOL. When I was 11-12 years old my mum ran away from home to London for months not knowing if/when she would return.”
These are not minor parenting mistakes or isolated lapses of judgment.
They are patterns of grooming, sexualisation, abandonment, psychological torture, and blatant collusion with abusers.
Many of the same parents then turned on Lighthouse when their sons or daughters began confronting the past and seeking real recovery.
These are the people who have been weaponised by the BBC and its allies to portray Lighthouse – the very community helping them face these realities – as the problem.
6. Paul S. Waugh, Repentance & the BBC’s Double Standard on Abuse
Biased critics—including some who call themselves Christians—magnify a handful of expletives from Paul S. Waugh while ignoring catastrophic abuse inside the families they platform. That is a heinous double standard.
Strong language is not righteousness. But where Paul has sinned, Paul has repented, apologised where appropriate, and invited scrutiny and accountability. That does not erase past faults; it proves a willingness to face them in Christ.
Now compare that with generational abusive family systems that refuse truth, deny harm, and attack anyone who exposes them. When so-called journalism cannot—or will not—distinguish between repentance and denial, between confronting evil and protecting it, it does not safeguard. It does evil.
7. Coercing Survivors Back to Their Abusers
“When I was 3 years old, my mother was confronted by a nursery school teacher because I was turning up black and blue with bruises from her vicious beatings.” — former Lighthouse Global client and survivor of toxic family abuse
When the BBC toxically frames Lighthouse as “dangerous” while relying on the false narratives of abusive families, it engages in extreme, diabolical gaslighting.
Survivors get pushed into a false choice:
- stay with Lighthouse, fight for justice and truth, and get branded “brainwashed,” or
- return to toxic families and face diabolical coercive control and abuse in the name of “care”.
This is what “protecting families” means in practice at the BBC: it protects abusers’ public reputation at the heinous expense of those who have been abused. Whether that is white British girls as young as 11-years old being treated as criminals for being raped and trafficked by Muslim gangs. Or those individuals like Paul S. Waugh, trying desperately to help grown-up victims of family abuse.
The BBC’s modus operandi is undeniable.
Lying to the public or choosing not to cover the rape gang crisis is just the tip of the iceberg. Make absolutely zero mistake about this:
The BBC is a den of child-abusing, abuser-protecting, demonic individuals.
The BBC is Britain’s Broadcasting Cult.
8. A Prayer for the Perpetrators & Survivors of Family Abuse
Lord Heavenly Father,
We pray with heavy hearts as to how fallen and sinful we are as humanity. You created families with the intention for them to be a place where loving bonds could be formed, to be a source of joy. You created families to ensure that every child could receive the mentoring, the coaching, the counselling and the complete upbringing they require to be prepared for life physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Families were designed to provide love, care, wisdom, nurture and mutual support.
Father, we grieve at how families fall short of the perfect design with which You created them. We experience the sorrow, as do You, at how innocent children have their trust in those closest to them abused.
We pray for the healing of those who have suffered unnecessarily at the hands of abusers, whatever the form and whatever the extent they have experienced.
We pray for the repentance of those who have been abusive. We also pray for those like the BBC and Alexandra Stein who insist on endorsing abusers.
We recognise that You are both a loving and a just God. We trust in You and ensure that through this tragic situation, You may be glorified in whatever way possible… whether through healing, regeneration or justice in its truest form.
We repent for every violation of You, our Lord, and every act of abuse we have perpetrated on ourselves and others, knowingly or unknowingly.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
Amen.

Thank you for correcting the record. I realise this is only a fragment of the full reality… I’m realising more that to actually get the truth out comprehensively is an enormous effort. Why? Because of the industrial media complex that purports and propagates lies, deceit and falsehoods in the name of news.
There would have been a time where I could not fathom how facts like abuse in families are published by prominent UK charities, yet hardly known in society.
Now I realise, when the BBC is the largest dispenser of news and information and THEY are a house of sick satanic abusers themselves, well of course the true facts of child abuse are going to get buried!
“The family environment accounts for almost half of all child sexual abuse offences reported to the police in England and Wales“.
This is the world we live in?! God have mercy on us. Please Lord use us and Your Body to serve and heal.
Phew – reading this article and the testimonies is haunting. This is what the BBC didn’t reveal deliberately because they never thought that we would get reach. It’s beyond scandalous what they delicately hid from the British and global public while deliberately portraying Paul S Waugh and Lighthouse as malevolent and malicious. What some of the families and parents have done to their children is abuse and yet the BBC covered up that abuse because it completely destroyed the story they wanted to present. This is evil personified:
Amen. Phew, this was an incredibly difficult and harrowing article to read, but thank God that those who have been the subject of such abuses are receiving the help that they need now and ongoing through our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of Him, many of us are healing from deep, dark, and traumatic childhoods that many would not look to heal from because of the sheer pain and magnitude of it in some cases.
Thank you to everyone who is on this journey, and I am thankful to Paul for helping us all grow closer together through this. We pray that, if it be His will, those at the BBC repent, and that those in these toxic families may be able to turn to Him and repent, make their wrongs right, accept accountability, and want to grow in Christ and learn.
Thank you so much, and God bless us all. x x
Thank you for this powerful and very disturbing but necessary read. Reading through this and thinking about who and what the BBC have supported in these families and then how they have, at the very same time, chosen to gaslight, smear and attack Lighthouse and those that were benefitting from its support, urging them back into realms of the abusers they were trying to escape from is heinous. It can be of no surprise then that this is the same BBC that has refused to report extensively and responsibly on the British Rape Gangs issue. The organisation that claims to protect and act for the public interest is in fact one of the greatest dangers to the public interest and they demonstrate that by what and who they support.
What’s just as despicable is the way that so-called ‘specialists’ and academics would prostitute themselves to the BBC to aid the BBC in what they have done to Lighthouse, such as Dr Stein. She should be stripped of any and all academic qualifications she uses to trade off with this. I personally suspect that she (to answer the question that was posed here in this article) does see the truth of who these people are and yet chose to protect the abusers.
This doesn’t get talked about enough but there is an epidemic of children turning adults and having to deal with the repercussions of the neglect and abuse they endured. That’s the only reason it is getting spoke about, because it can’t just be swept under the rug, and it ought to be something that parents can own up to, apologise for and make it right. But that often isn’t the case. Thank you for shedding light on this and not letting the BBC get away with the slander against Lighthouse when they ought to be the ones helping citizens and parents.
This is an incredibly important post; presenting the reality of the abusive and neglectful families that Lighthouse Associates and clients have come from.
Normally, when an organisation accused of being a destructive cult is featured, there’s heinous abuse perpetrated by the leadership within the featured organisation.
Meanwhile, in the case of Lighthouse and A Very British Cult, the abuse took place outside of the organisation… inflicted by malignantly toxic sources who also ended up being BBC sources.
I invite every single BBC source, BBC staff member and any one of the millions of viewers/listeners of A Very British Cult to name one incident of actual abuse on anyone at Lighthouse.
What’s happened is hateful, vengeful people trying to control or destroy those in Lighthouse have watched the HBO Show The Vow about NXIVM and basically tried to project that onto us with some dark fantasy narrative. For instance, Martin Francis believes he’s Catherine Oxenberg desperately trying to get his daughter out of some destructive cult (at least one scene is eerily familiar!).
Now, with the benefit of hindsight I see how themes from a TV programme about a completely different situation influenced Reddit posts and testimonies in the attempt to murder us and our reputations at Lighthouse.
Going back to these testimonies again, is extremely chilling and unsettling. We have to remember these examples were real experiences with actually family members. If the BBC and Alexandra Stein had it their way, we would be back in the clutches of toxic family..shame on them!
Thank you for the prayer, I pray for healing for everyone person harmed at the hands of abusers and I pray our brothers and sisters see this article and would seek help if they ever need it…we understand and know that toxic abusive families are real and by God’s grace, we are healing and want to help other heal to, God be with us 🙏
The terrifying thing is this is just the tip of the iceberg of what is actually happening in our society.
This is just what has been found during a few years of research, by a small group of people, imagine the scale of the abuses nationwide?
All of which is covered up, ‘reframed’ and just ignored by the BBC.
Massive reform is needed in all our government institutions to actually do the job of protecting citizens and improving quality of life.
Thank you for sharing these realities of abuse that are happening in families and the struggle and suffering that individuals go through. The testimonies here require courage and vulnerability to share, and they give an insight into what is really going on behind closed doors.
Our children need real protection, but instead the BBC and so called cult expert Alexandra Stein attack and try to destroy Lighthouse Global, an organisation that has helped so many people to work through their challenges and become more in touch with our God given potential. Working through childhood trauma can be brutal, but the BBC likes to create stories out of it for its own benefit and, as the mouthpiece of the establishment, does not want to empower people or help them understand and see the truth.
Thank God for people like Paul S. Waugh and for Lighthouse Global, who help people tackle their challenges and heal despite heinous attacks from families and organisations.
Thank you again for this article!
This was such a hard read. Reading the testimonies from people who have been through sexual or abuse, God bless them, thank you for sharing. They where sickening and hard to read…
What infuriates me is how the BBC ignored them. Why I say that is because they calmed in with their fake documythary.
Powerful article, thank you to all involved in putting this together…
The corporate corruption is deeply sinister. It’s more than the BBC protecting what they put out, they’re helping the degrading of society by protecting abusers. The likes of A. Stein need to be deplatformed. What she is doing is the same, empowering abuse within the family. If you help, or even advocate for, people going back to abusive families, you’re part of the problem.
The stories I’m hearing, some families are downright evil. There’s a responsibility that the BBC and people in influential positions, like Stein, hold, and they must respect that or be removed from that position of influence.
