Monitoring the BBC For Its Propaganda Falsehoods

For decades the BBC has claimed to protect the very citizens it now routinely deceives – citizens it forces to pay licence fees under threat of prosecution. The British public were told they were funding a shield for truth. In case after case, what they have actually funded is a weapon used against ordinary people in service of the establishment.

Now, the Lighthouse light is shining back on the BBC.

The BBC must be verified – the people, the organisation, and everything they produce.

Who Verifies BBC Verify?

The BBC wants “BBC Verify” to mean “we verify everyone else.”

But the moment an institution claims the right to verify others, a deeper question appears:

Who verifies the ‘verifier’? and: Who verifies BBC Verify?

If “BBC Verify” is genuine, then:

  • The BBC itself
  • The journalists and executives behind it
  • And everything they produce

must be open to the same standards of scrutiny, transparency, and correction that they demand from the rest of the world’s media and journalists.

When the BBC refuses to let its own work – including A Very British Cult – be tested by BBC Verify‑level standards, the meaning of the brand quietly flips:

  • Not “we are the most verified.”
  • But “we are the only ones who don’t have to be verified.”

This project exists to close that gap:

If the BBC insists on verifying everyone else, then the BBC – and BBC Verify itself – must now be verified.

We are not just verifying isolated BBC articles or programmes, but the institution itself:

  • What the BBC says it exists for.
  • What its Charter and Editorial Guidelines actually require.
  • How it really behaves when truth threatens establishment interests.

Where We Start

We do not begin with a handful of embarrassing BBC mistakes.

We begin with three questions:

  1. What does the BBC say it is? The trusted, impartial, “verified” broadcaster that claims to hold power to account.
  2. What has the BBC bound itself to in its own Charter and guidelines? Duties to truth, verification, impartiality, corrections, and accountability to the public.
  3. How does the BBC actually live this out in practice? Not in slogans and press releases, but in editorial decisions, in who it platformed, who it silenced, what it edited out, and how it handled evidence and complaints.

Only after setting out the BBC’s stated charter do we expose the BBC’s real charter – the one revealed by its actions.

Our Focus Areas

On this site we examine the BBC and BBC Verify in at least four core areas:

  1. Truth & Accuracy: Are claims supported by primary evidence, or by spin and selective editing?
  2. Impartiality & Bias: Who gets platformed as an authority, and whose voices are ignored, smeared, or silenced?
  3. Verification & Evidence Handling: When the BBC demands “verification” from others, does it submit its own work to the same standards – especially in cases that threaten establishment interests?
  4. Corrections & Accountability: What happens when the BBC is confronted with concrete evidence of falsehoods and harm? Does it repent, repair, and correct – or stonewall, minimise, and move on?

Lighthouse Global: A Test Case the BBC Refuses to Verify Because They Dare Not & Cannot

In April 2023, the BBC broadcast A Very British Cult, a documentary containing 140+ provable falsehoods about Paul S. Waugh and Lighthouse Global. This was one month before launching BBC Verify, as announced by the disgraced ex-BBC News CEO Deborah Turness in May 2023.

BBC Verify has never verified this documentary. The BBC dare not, cannot and will not verify A Very British Cult. This is impossible because it’s one big fake documentary, a documythry! We will show you why it won’t be verified in fine detail over time.

We’ve requested the BBC to verify A Very British Cult numerous times. Yet, when challenged to apply its own verification standards to its own work, the BBC chose silence.

This site treats A Very British Cult as a test case that reveals the BBC’s real charter in action:

  • How it deceptively handles evidence presented to it in advance.
  • How it manipulatively edits and splices recordings.
  • How it frames ordinary citizens as a threat while protecting establishment actors.
  • How it responds when the damage is exposed.

Why This Matters

When an institution claims the right to define “truth” for tens of millions of people, its own honesty and accountability are not optional extras, they are everything.

If the BBC and BBC Verify will not submit themselves to the same verification they demand from others, they have no moral authority to act as arbiters of truth in public life.

This site exists to make that contradiction visible – carefully, concretely, and persistently – until real accountability is faced.
